I was 17 when I met August Brown at a summer journalism program for high schoolers at Northwestern. Today, when he’s not writing for the LA Times, August’s recording great songs, filming music videos, and is often mistaken for Moby when he’s out and about in LA. Over the years, August’s sent me every CD from every band he’s been in. I think Death Kit is his seventh or eighth project. Anyway, this is by far my favorite recording of his.
